Why Did RemoteCPA Become MyBuilderCPA?

Hello! Jon Markee here, founder and CEO of MyBuilderCPA, formerly known as RemoteCPA. You might be wondering why we decided to change our name. The reason is simple: we want to clearly communicate to our target audience that we are dedicated to serving those who build.

Our Target Audience

At MyBuilderCPA, we specialize in working with:

  • Home builders

  • Remodelers

  • Renovators

  • Commercial constructors

By focusing on these specific sectors, we can provide more tailored and effective accounting services. This name change helps us attract the right clients while also deterring those from industries we are less equipped to serve. Our expertise lies in the construction industry, and our capacity to serve other sectors is limited.

Why the Name Change?

The name RemoteCPA was a bit too broad for our focused approach. We had people from all over the country contacting us for one-off tax return services. Unfortunately, that's not what we specialize in. Our firm is dedicated to serving construction professionals on a year-round, month-to-month basis, providing continuous support rather than just annual tax preparation.

How Did We Change Our Name?

We didn't create a new legal entity; everything remains under the same Employer Identification Number (EIN) and address. Instead, we established a "Doing Business As" (DBA) name. Officially, we are an S-Corporation named RemoteCPA, but we are now doing business as MyBuilderCPA.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you have any questions about our background, how we operate, or our ownership structure, please don't hesitate to reach out. We understand that partnering with a new accounting firm requires trust in its reliability and security. I am more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to serving you under our new name, MyBuilderCPA.
