Important Updates from MyBuilderCPA: Streamlined Tools, Scheduling, and More!

We have some exciting updates to share with you that will enhance our services and make our processes more efficient. Here’s what you need to know:

1. Elimination of Dext Prepare Software We've heard your feedback about the complexity of using multiple applications with redundant features. To simplify, we are phasing out Dext Prepare Software. If you use BuilderTrend, Adaptive, or JobTread, you can use the receipt capture feature directly within those tools. For other clients, QuickBooks Online (QBO) now offers all the same features as Dext. You can easily snap pictures of your receipts using the QBO app. For email receipts, QBO has a similar forwarding feature. We can set this up during our next call. If you prefer to keep your Dext subscription, we can transfer the billing at any time. Otherwise, we will cancel Dext subscriptions on June 19, 2024. Learn more about QBO receipt capture here.

2. Elimination of Our Client Portal To address issues with our Client Portal, we are moving all document storage and sharing to QBO. You can access your documents under "My Accountant" in the "Shared Documents" tab. We will also use QBO for requesting statements and uploading financial reports. No more extra passwords! If you need to keep confidential documents outside of QBO, email me directly. We’ll use our new encrypted email tool, Encyro, for secure sharing. Read more about QBO shared documents here.

3. Streamlined Scheduling Process We are moving all appointments to the Google Calendar appointment feature. Simply click the "Let's Meet" link in my email signature to book a 30-minute time slot that suits you. This eliminates confusion from multiple meeting types and makes scheduling more straightforward.

4. Standardized Chart of Accounts We are aligning our Chart of Accounts with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recommended template. This standardization will make your financials more consistent and accurate. If your Chart of Accounts significantly differs from the NAHB template, let's discuss improvements to standardize it. We are also looking to align cost codes with NAHB recommendations, while respecting your need for customization.

5. Recording Meetings To enhance communication, we propose recording our meetings (with your permission). This will ensure the entire team hears your input directly, improving the accuracy of information relay and service quality. Your privacy is important to us, and recordings will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out directly. We're here to help and ensure these transitions are smooth and beneficial for you.

Many thanks for your continued trust and partnership.

Best regards,
